Description:
An Operator 1 performs various critical roles to support the operation of the Extrusion Department. All Operator 1’s must cross-train and become an expert in the stacker, pad, and unwinder positions.
This is a 12-hour rotation night shift, 7 PM – 7 AM.
What you will do as an Operator 1 in the Extrusion Department:
Stacker:
- Visual inspection for print, wear, and pad defects.
- Check pad, print, and wear alignment.
- Inspect and align trim knives to the correct position when necessary.
- Perform quality checks as indicated.
- Verify spect sheet is correct.
- Notify Operator 2 when a defect is spotted.
- Dispose of trimmings into scrap bins.
- Use a pallet jack to move the finished pallets to the staging lane.
- Lift 25-pound slabs as needed.
- Maneuver pallets that can weigh up to 80 pounds.
- Follow all safety regulations.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Pad:
- Visual inspection for pad defects.
- Check pad alignment.
- Inspect and align trim knives to the correct position when necessary.
- Add new pad roll when needed.
- Verify correct pad is being used.
- Operate crane.
- Open and dispose of pad boxes/cores.
- Monitor pad temperature.
- Maneuver 80-pound pad rolls as needed.
- Follow all safety regulations.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Unwinder:
- Visual inspection for print and wear defects.
- Check print and wear alignment.
- Inspect and align trim knives to the correct position when necessary.
- Add a new print and wear roll when needed.
- Verify correct print and wear are being used.
- Verify spect sheet is correct.
- Operate crane.
- Open and dispose of print and wear boxes/cores.
- Monitor print and wear temperature.
- Maneuver 80-pound print and wear rolls as needed.
- Follow all safety regulations.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in Basic English
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Must be able to pass the eye exam
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have the ability to mount & dismount the lift truck repeatedly.
- Must be able to perform basic computer functions
- Willing and able to work in a hot, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environment
- Complete Huali’s lift truck certification.
