Senior Accountant
Job Purpose: The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial records and the smooth execution of accounting operations. This role focuses on accurate financial reporting, depreciation management, and resolving inventory-related accounting issues, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal controls. The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the company's financial health by maintaining accurate financial data and managing key accounting processes such as fixed asset tracking, inventory, and account reconciliation.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for AP/AR daily activities and weekly reconciliations
- Validate and book all Divvy expenses daily
- Responsible for Divvy weekly reconciliation
- Responsible for Amazon and FedEx weekly reconciliation
- Submit weekly payment run request
- Book weekly payments in NetSuite
- Follow up on AP issues with vendors and internal departments when needed
- Follow up on AR issues with customers and internal departments when needed
- Responsible for all customer and vendor statements
- Assist in the oversight of general ledger activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, including tracking capital expenditures, calculating depreciation, and ensuring accurate reporting of asset disposals and impairments.
- Manage and resolve inventory accounting issues, including adjustments and variances between physical counts and cycle counts.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function, especially in asset management and inventory tracking.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures, particularly regarding asset management and inventory oversight.
- Ad Hoc reporting and analysis tasks to support the finance team
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years as a staff accountant, including direct experience managing depreciation, inventory-related accounting, and AR & AP functions.
- Knowledge of compliance: issues related to accounts payable processes (W-9 form, sales tax, etc.)
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Impressive attention to detail
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and execute effectively
- Excellent written, and oral communication/presentation skills
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
