In this dynamic role, you’ll lead the distribution sales team in the Northeast, taking charge of strategic initiatives that propel sales and profitability to new heights. From crafting and executing winning strategies to optimizing team performance across assigned territories, your leadership will be the catalyst for success. You’ll also focus on unlocking top-line growth by strengthening customer relationships and uncovering new revenue opportunities in an ever-evolving marketplace.

Essential Functions:

  • Increase territory profitability by devising and executing strategic plan to acquire new business, drive customer value and increase retention. Develop business strategy to ensure short-term and long-term growth and profitability.
  • Develop sales strategy in order to attain increased sales, gross profit and selling profit goals. Coordinate sales efforts according to the strategic plan, maximizing company returns.
  • Assess, describe and deploy a transformed sales model that drives best in class service to the customers by delivering expertise on demand and lowers overall cost to serve. 
  • Explores the needs of the customer to provide marketing and R&D with customer requirements for new product development and opportunities. Develop sales budget and maintain effective budgetary controls.
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows and networking events to create new relationships and strengthen existing relationships. 
  • Deliver high level value proposition presentations to existing customers and prospects as well as lead SVP and TED Talk presentations at end user location to gain local referrals to higher level company contacts. 
  • Discharge duties assigned in ISO 9000 and Responsible Distribution as directed and initiate actions to prevent and correct non-conformance including interruption of production.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

 

  • A bachelor degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in consultative selling, developing growth plans with key accounts and leading a sales team.
  • A minimum of 10 years in industrial business to business sales experience. 
  • Expertise in surface finishing, metal pretreatment or related processes.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Experience in any of our current markets is a plus.
