Summary

The QA Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust quality management system across the company. They will ensure compliance with quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices, while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of quality management principles, and a proven track record in implementing effective QA processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develop and implement the quality management system:

• Establish and maintain quality standards, procedures, and policies.

• Define and communicate quality objectives and metrics.

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Conduct internal audits and drive corrective actions:

• Perform regular internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards.

• Identify non-conformities and areas for improvement.

• Work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.

Manage quality planning and assurance activities:

• Collaborate with product development, engineering, and manufacturing teams to define quality plans for new products or services.

• Review and approve quality-related documentation, such as test protocols, validation plans, and inspection procedures.

• Ensure adherence to quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives:

• Analyze quality performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

• Lead or participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.

• Implement process enhancements to optimize quality and efficiency.

Foster a quality culture:

• Promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.

• Encourage and support employees in adopting quality-focused behaviors.

• Drive quality-related initiatives and champion best practices.

Member of the Company facility safety and inspection team.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has direct supervisory responsibility for Quality Control staff.

Qualification Requirements

Education And/Or Experience

2-4 years in a relevant quality management role. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Quality Management) is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) are a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, technical documents, common scientific journals, operating and maintenance manuals, legal documents and procedure manuals.

• Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Manager or in a similar role.

• Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (UL, ETL, ASME a plus).

• Experience in conducting internal audits and driving corrective actions.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality standards.

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Proficiency in quality management software and tools.

Computer Skills: Competent with computer software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio), and Outlook.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to use common measuring instruments and electrical test equipment.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Requirements

General office / warehouse environment.

Ability to continuously stand or walk.

Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing written and electronic figures, viewing a computer terminal, and visual inspection involving small defects.

Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.

May occasionally involve repetitive movements.

Frequently sit, sort, file paperwork or parts, grasp lightly, and use fine manipulation, bend, lift, carry, push and pull objects that weigh 35 pounds or less.

Multi-tasking with frequent interruptions.

Occasionally write by hand, use a telephone, twist, bend, stoop, and squat.
