JOB SUMMARY
The waterjet operator and CNC equipment programmer operates waterjet. Separates, deburrs, and labels parts that come from the water-cutting machines, and is responsible for meeting the daily production requirements. The programmer is responsible for creating programs for and operating rolling and profile bending machines, along with screw flight pressing machines. This position is dedicated to getting the job done right the first time and promotes a safe work environment focused on overall continuous improvement and world-class manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned or re-assigned as the Manufacturing Facility expands.
  • Potential creation of nesting programs for the cutting machines (laser, waterjet, etc.) using
  • AlmaCAM
  • Operates Flow Mach 500 waterjet.
  • Layout, set up, and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines such as shears,
  • power presses, saws, plate rolls, drills, computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment, and
  • other hand tools to cut, bend, roll, otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products.
  • Optimization of nesting in terms of sheet metal consumption.
  • Creation of working papers and labels for downstream processes
  • Storage and booking with the barcode scanner on pallets.
  • Create programs for CNC plate rolls to roll flat sheet metal into cylinders, half cylinders and cones.
  • Create programs for CNC profile bender to bend flat bar on hard edge to defined arc’s.
  • Scheduling of the production parts, creation of storage programs, and optimizing lot sizes.
  • Provide timely information regarding problems in production that may adversely affect quality,
  • delivery, or customer requirements.
  • Knowledge/use of appropriate tools to keep machines in operation.
  • Attention to detail; adherence to all standards of quality and safety.
  • Addressing machine malfunctions in an efficient and expedited manner.
  • Chart machine performance and administer routine checks/maintenance.
  • Plan the sequences of operation to achieve optimal precision and tolerances.
  • Make suggestions for further improvements in the program to shorten run times.
  • Analyze tooling, setups, and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Read and understand manufacturing drawings in order to classify them by part type and thickness.
  • Remain constantly alert to detect improper machining.
  • Work as part of the team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting, and
  • implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to
  • optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards.
  • Undertake continuous training and development.

2. Read and understands blueprints.
3. Inspect parts visually and mechanically for conformance to the print and process dimensions.
4. Able to operate an overhead crane, and other lifting devices.
5. Maintain work area and equipment clean, orderly, and safe.

8. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
9. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Consistent attendance is expected. Flexibility to respond to troubleshooting issues. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a shop setting with exposure to shop noise, dust and particles to be expected in this role

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
1. Physically active role
2. Must have manual dexterity – to operate and utilize a variety of power and hand tools assembly
or shop tasks required – use of hands and feet required – data entry possible.
3. Lifting of metal is involved that can be heavy
4. Regularly required to stand, reach, bend, squat, push, pull and move about the facility
5. Walk or stand at least 8 hours per day
6. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
7. Regularly lift 30-50 pounds.
8. Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
9. Vision and dexterity for using computers and machine user interfaces.
10. Hearing and vision are important to the Shop Labor’s safety on the job, as well as to be able to
read blueprints and specifications. Consistent attendance due to tight production schedules is
required to meet the needs of our customers.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday – Friday, currently starting at 6AM with a 30 minute lunch (this is subject to change)

Travel
A valid passport is recommended in case exernal training is required at some point.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
  • High-level computer skills.
  • Previous programming experience.
  • Previous experience operating water cutting machines.
  • Familiar with the concept of nesting.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand tool equipment
  • Equipment Manufacturing background a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and knowledge of an ERP system.
  • Experience operating Flow water cutting equipment.

Pre-Hire:
Ability to pass a drug test related to the role, background check related to the role, and
