Purpose Of Role
A Mine Planning Superintendent is a senior managerial role in the mining industry responsible for overseeing and
optimizing mine planning and scheduling to ensure efficient and safe resource extraction, while also managing a
team and adhering to mine regulations.
The Mine Planning Superintendent is responsible for instilling confidence in the Mining Plan by reviewing and
analyzing existing data from the life-of-mine process. This role involves producing realistic designs that enable the
creation of mine operating plans and schedules meeting project objectives for the mine life, short-term planning
and production systems.

- Mine Planning: Develop and implement strategic, long-term and short-term mine plans, ensuring

- Life-of-Mine Budgets and Forecasts: Prepare budgets and forecasts for the mine operation.
- Project Support: Provide mine planning support to the Copper World Integrated project team.
- Short-Term Mine Planning: Develop three-monthly, monthly, weekly, and daily mine plans.
- Facility Planning: Plan waste dumps, stockpiles, and the support of construction of other
- Drill and Blast Engineering: Plan of operation and ongoing improvements in drill and blast
- Productivity Analyses: Conduct productivity analyses and improvement studies.
- Production Accounting: Oversee production accounting.
- Stockpile Inventory Accounting: Manage stockpile inventory accounting.
- Mine Equipment Studies: Conduct studies on mine equipment.
- Mine Surveying: Ensure compliance with survey operating standards.
- Technical Data: Compile and analyze technical data.
- Mine Model: Provide leadership and ownership of the Long-Term Planning and Medium-Term Planning

Minimum Qualifications And Education
- Bachelor’s degree: A degree in mining engineering is required.
- Advanced Degree: A post-graduate degree is considered a strong asset.
- Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of proven experience in mine engineering in open pit
department.
- Specialized Mine Planning Software: Proficiency in mine design and planning software is essential;
advantageous.
- Reporting and Presentations: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power
- Technical Expertise: Possesses a strong technical background in mining engineering, geology, surveying
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are required.
