MEDICAL STAFF OFFICE ASSISTANT
Looking for a Medical Staff Office Assistant to be responsible for handling administrative tasks onsite, interface with healthcare providers/staff in a positive and professional manner, updating and managing the MDStaff webpage and performing other general office duties.
Must exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to learn. The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment. They will interact with healthcare providers and staff in a courteous and professional manner, assist with credentialing processes, and maintain critical documentation in compliance with medical staff policies.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Update and maintain accurate healthcare provider’s credentials (including licenses, CDS, DEA, COI, and other required documentation.).
Responsible for ensuring and maintaining data for healthcare providers in credentialing databases and online systems.
The verification/recertification of licenses and certifications must be done in a timely matter.
Verify healthcare providers credentials with primary sources, including education, licensure, certification, and professional liability insurance.
Assists in credentialing and re-credentialing processes for healthcare providers.
Provide support to organization and its affiliated credentialing team.
Maintains confidentiality of healthcare provider information.
Conducts phone calls, scanning, sorting mail and filing.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Communication & Compliance:
Interface with healthcare providers and hospital staff in a positive, professional, and customer-service-focused manner.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements related to credentialing and provider records.
Assist with audits and inspections related to provider credentialing documentation
Education Requirements: High School Diploma Required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel. Experience Requirements:
Experience with MDStaff software or other credentialing system is a plus.
Ability to organize, prioritize multiple tasks and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and problem solving skills.
Able to work collaboratively with the team to achieve tasks and goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in healthcare credentialing, provider enrollment, or medical staff services.
Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards and accreditation processes.
Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures related to medical staff
