Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. As a Line Chef, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Prep food items along with tasting inventory items to insure freshness factor before serving.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining quality and presentation.
- Assist in managing inventory control, including ordering and tracking supplies.
- Supervise kitchen support staff (Dishwasher/Food Runners) during shifts, providing guidance and support as need.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
- Monitor food handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations and refrigerated items are correctly placed and maintained.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service with experience for a cafe menu; breakfast and lunch menu items.
- Knowledge of food management practices, including inventory control and food handling procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; must speak English fluently.
- Formal culinary degree a big plus.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
