We are seeking a highly experienced Administrative Specialist, Policy Engagement & Credit Union Operations support the development of programs to expand member credit unions engagement to advance a unified pro-credit union message to policy makers at all levels and branches of government; and assist with the creation of compliance resources and tools as well as assist in the tracking of trends in member credit union compliance questions. This position will also be responsible for the coordination and logistics of the organization's various Advocacy committees. This position is a hybrid role located in Washington DC.

Responsibilities :

Support Advocacy Committees

  • Provide administrative support, including taking minutes, for committees with which the Department may be involved.
  • Organize meeting setup, materials preparation and coordination of schedules for staff and committee members.

Support the Grassroots & State Outreach Team

  • Coordinate meetings with Advocacy staff and state leagues on legislative matters.
  • Coordinate contract and invoice processing and finalization in concert with other Advocacy staff.
  • Support planning and coordination efforts for various advocacy events, including the organization's annual advocacy conferences and coalition conferences (e.g., National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL)).
  • Support the Compliance Team

  • Assist in the analysis of trends in member credit union questions.
  • Assist in coordinating with Association Services to finalize compliance content and resources.
  • Support planning and coordination efforts for various annual compliance conferences and events.
  • Member Engagement

  • Assist the VP, Policy Engagement & Credit Union Operations with state league outreach and engagement.
  • Track league and member engagement in grassroots and state legislative campaigns.
  • Track member credit union questions for the compliance team.
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Two or more years providing administrative support to a team
  • Experience with research and analysis
  • Passionate about advancing the credit union movement and a commitment to meeting the needs of our members.
  • Collaborative, professional team player who treats others with respect and is skilled at building relationships.
  • Understands the importance of a member-centric focus and a commitment to standards of excellence in engagement.
  • Highly effective communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Process-orientated with a strong desire for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with flexibility and willingness to pivot as needed.
  • Proven ability to think ahead, creatively problem solve, and take initiative. Eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
  • Must be able to operate independently and to proactively ask for assistance when needed. Exhibits sound judgement, resourcefulness, and ability to make well-informed decisions.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability and willingness learn other programs and web-based applications.
  • Ability to Travel 8-10 days per year
