This team is responsible for all aspects of the Human Resource function, including Employee Administration, Employee Relations, Talent Management and Performance Management in support of the Institute's mission and administrative areas and LLCs.
Position Summary
The Director of Human Resources for HudsonAlpha reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This position requires a skilled professional with broad experience in all aspects of Human Resources to build effective, comprehensive HR services and programs aligned with the mission, vision, and values of HudsonAlpha.

- Collaborate with HudsonAlpha Mission areas and Administrative teams to deliver high-quality HR initiatives that support the strategic direction of the Institute
- Mentor and develop the HR team
- Direct recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of HudsonAlpha personnel
- Lead cultural development initiatives that support Institute values
- Direct benefit design and administration and lead the benefit renewal process
- Lead the annual performance and compensation review process
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure ethical consistency and legality. Keep leadership informed of regulatory changes and maintain the employee handbook.
- Provide coaching and performance management guidance, resources, and tools
- Investigate, manage, and resolve employee relations issues
- Provide development opportunities for all staff
- Manage the HR budget to best support the work and strategies of the organization.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required, with an advanced degree preferred.
- SHRM-CP/PHR or SHRM-SCP/SPHR certified preferred.
- At least seven years in progressively more responsible Human Resource positions, with at least 2 years in a Director role or equivalent experience.
- Strong Communication Skills
- Strong interpersonal, negotiating and conflict-resolution skills
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills
- Strong ethical standards and the ability to stand behind these when tested
- Ability to understand and support a diverse workforce
- Ability to be flexible and accommodate changes in strategic, tactical or operational plans

Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sit or stand) for prolonged periods (50% of the time).
- Constant moving during campus events.
- Must be able to transport materials required for various experiences. This includes lifting and moving up to 25 pounds of materials (e.g. small stacks of media, equipment, and other equipment) between classrooms/events and to and from parking lots and buildings.
- Frequent operation of common office equipment (e.g. computers, mobile devices, calculators, copiers, scanners).
- Frequently move around HudsonAlpha campus to monitor guests of HudsonAlpha.
- Occasional air/car travel for meetings, conferences, or other activities which may require overnight stay(s).
- Vision abilities - close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust/focus.
- Moderate noise level (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
- Workspace is generally an indoor office setting and in other common and education spaces throughout HudsonAlpha with controlled temperature conditions.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor environment during portions of the workday including extreme cold or hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
