What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Secretary/Paralegal position at Hudspeth Law Office, LLC?
Fast paced law office looking for a front desk secretary/paralegal. Applicant must be self-motivated worker, with prior work experience in a legal office setting. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
1. Drafting documents and legal notices; preparing and forwarding summons and/or subpoenas; e-filing legal documents; preparing and filing discovery requests/responses for the firm's clients;
2. Organizing case files; documenting actions; confirming case status with attorney; generating status reports prior to hearings and trials; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses from opposing parties;
3. Monitoring the attorney's calendar; confirming and setting reminders for deadlines; documenting actions taken on case in case management software; scheduling and/coordinating hearings; preparing and sending hearing notices.
4. Keeping clients informed about case status; responding to client requests for information; keeping attorney informed about concerns or telephone calls from client with new information pertinent to the case.
Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel as well as Google Calendar. Our office's practice management is Smokeball, so experience with that program would be a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
