(“Fehlinger”) is a leading technical sales, manufacturers’ representative, distributor, and after-market service provider for steam specialties, heat transfer, and hot & chilled water process control applications. Fehlinger primarily works with customers in large facilities such as universities, hospitals, manufacturing, and commercial buildings in the New York Tri-State area. We are best known for our expertise in Con Edison high-pressure steam applications. We were founded in 1951 and have been serving the greater New York and tri-state area ever since. We are known for our technical expertise and customer service; we sell solutions to our customers’ problems. This position is to be the outside salesperson covering Mechanical Engineers and Contractors in the greater NYC area. This person will be the “face of Fehlinger” to the Engineering and Contracting communities in the area. They will work to influence specifications, maintain relationships, cover contractors, and ensure that we are growing our market share. They will become a subject matter expert on our products and services and be able to leverage the full suite of our offerings. The applicant will also play a key role in assisting the Vice President of Sales manage product lines (new and existing) that are appropriate for the business to meet growth goals based on market feedback.
Responsibilities :
- Technical sales of steam control, heat transfer, process, and flow control equipment in New York City and the surrounding area.
- Build and maintain key relationships with Mechanical Engineers and Contractors to influence specifications and ensure deal flow.
- Maintain quotas and close work with contractors.
- Work in a team environment to leverage existing relationships on strategic projects.
- Traveling to conduct face-to-face meetings with customers (lunch and learns, office visits, discovery calls, etc).
- Responsible for the selection, pricing, strategy, and design of projects with support from our estimating and inside sales support employees.
- Keeping abreast of the latest industry developments by attending meetings, training workshops, and industry events.
