What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at Hughey Law Firm, LLC?
We are looking for a skilled paralegal to join our team. You will be responsible for the coordination case details from the initial sign up through to closing the file. The successful candidate will be able to provide assistance during all phases of the litigation process including conducting client interviews, scheduling, and document filing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-claim investigation and initial case assessments
- Draft pleadings and motions and file them with the court
- Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organise case files, manage logistics etc)
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices
- Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
- Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
- Provide assistance with case settlements
Skills
- Proven working experience as a litigation paralegal in a personal injury setting
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices etc
- Highly organised with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
- Extensive computer and database expertise
- Paralegal associates degree or other relevant certification
- Medical knowledge and background is a plus, but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
