Position Title: Part-Time Occupational Therapist
Supervisor Title: Director
POSITION GOAL To perform occupational therapy/hand therapy treatments, evaluations and related services established by state law.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans and administers occupational therapy (OT) treatments for patients referred by qualified physicians.
Observe and become aware of progress of patient, discuss with physician as necessary.
Record progress notes on a daily basis.
Instruct patients in home exercise programs and provide written instructions as appropriate.
Fabricate splints, braces, hand and wrist covers. Etc to support hand therapy treatments as required.
Provide for a comfortable, orderly, clean and safe clinic environment.
Comply with all national and state guidelines as required by law.
Provide effective and ethical intervention to promote healing and restore function.
Participates in educational opportunities to maintain licensure and facilitate the highest standard of practice.
Assign work to and instruct Rehab Aides
Communicate progress, both written and verbal to patient, physicians and lead therapist as necessary
HUGHSTON RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilize effective communication skills (written and verbal) interacting with co-workers, other clinic employees, supervisors, and outside vendors.
Promote The Hughston Clinics role in the community by greeting and interacting with all patients, families, visitors, vendors, and guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
Provides support or relief for other staff as needed.
Demonstrates confidentiality in all aspects to include both patient and non-patient issues.
Reflect THC values and is sensitive to THCs ethical and compliance principals in his/her daily activities.
Promote resolution of concerns and conflict by routing through correct mechanism or resolving the situation.
Able to prioritize daily functions/tasks
Display a willingness to put forth effort in problem solving

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience: Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred.
Two (2) years previous OT experience preferred.
Splinting and wound care experience preferred.
Education: Bachelors degree in Occupational therapy required
Special Qualifications: Must have current Occupational Therapy license, State Modalities certification preferred.
Current BLS certification required
Outside Relationship: Maintain excellent working relationship with physicians Interaction With Other Departments: All Hospital and Clinic departments
