Role : Senior Accountant

Location : Houston, TX (Hybrid : 3 days on-site – T,W,Th)

Duration : 3 months

Compensation : up to $45 / hour depending upon experience

Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support our client, a leading company in the oil and gas industry. This contract position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and a proven ability to manage general ledger (GL) activities. Ideal candidates will possess experience in Microsoft Dynamics, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with Tableau. Prior experience in the oil and gas sector, particularly with gas operations, is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage and support general ledger (GL) activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Perform month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct "ticking and tying" procedures to ensure all accounts are properly reconciled.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve accounting issues.
• Leverage advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.) to analyze and present data.
• Utilize Microsoft Dynamics for transactional and reporting activities.
• Create and maintain dashboards or visualizations in Tableau (a plus).
