Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Consulting Senior Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. This role is perfect for an experienced professional looking to apply their skills in a fast-paced, challenging environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all accounting operations related to income statements, financials, Great Plains, intercompany, and balance sheets. If you are a problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and a passion for financial management, then we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

As a Consulting Senior Accountant, you will be expected to

• Oversee and manage all general ledger activity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, including but not limited to, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial report preparations.
• Prepare and analyze monthly income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
• Utilize Great Plains software to manage and streamline accounting processes.
• Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly resolved.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with all internal controls, policies, and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
• Provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing board presentations, financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry/peer group comparisons, new business opportunities, acquisition analysis, and other projects requested by senior management.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and accuracy of financial processes.
  
  

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Consulting Senior Accountant position should have the following qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the construction industry.
• Proficient in Great Plains or similar accounting software.
• Solid understanding of income statements, balance sheets, and financials.
• Experience in handling intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-judged decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
