Summary:
Pono Aina Management is currently seeking a DoD Financial Analyst. The DoD Financial Analyst will support the Department of Defense by providing financial planning, budgeting, and execution expertise. Responsibilities include developing and managing budgets, conducting cost analyses, ensuring compliance with federal financial regulations, and supporting program execution across various defense programs. Analysts collaborate with military and civilian stakeholders to ensure financial integrity and effective allocation of resources. The Analyst shall provide analysis and aggregation of financial data to enhance audit readiness, automate reporting and dashboarding, and improve financial management activities within USARPAC enterprise-level transactions from multiple financial management data sources. Strong analytical skills, knowledge of DoD financial systems (e.g., DFAS, GFEBS, SABRS), and familiarity with federal appropriations law are essential for success in this role.
- Travel may be required inside of the U.S. (CONUS) as well as internationally (OCONUS).
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in DoD or Government budget roles, including tracking and reporting current execution in a readable, easy to understand format
- 3 years of performing detailed budget analysis providing solid, data informed options to senior leaders
- Experience with Army or Joint budgets in a Resource Manager role with large complex budgets, such as $50M
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platforms, including BI and Apps
- Experience with creating Program Objective Memorandums (POMs)
- Experience with creating organizational Spend Plans
- Secret Security Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with budget reporting through General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEBS)
- Experience managing Army and Joint funds at Echelons Above Brigade
- Experience with Army or Joint exercises in the INDOPACOM Area of Operations
- Working knowledge of Fiscal Law principles · Experience creating Program Objective Memorandums (POMs)
- Department of Defense Financial Management Certification Program (DoDFMCP) Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Requires the ability to walk short distances.
