The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the manufacturing of breathing airways for scuba diving and EBS systems with a variety of brands. Responsible for the manufacturing of new retail-ready airway devices, sub-assemblies and kits. The Production Supervisor provides guidance, support and motivation to the team, delegating and coordinating tasks while overseeing the activities of the department and coordinating efforts with the Production Leads. The Production Supervisor provides ethical leadership and coaching to the production team, ensuring that all key performance indicators (KPI's) are achieved. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing department and leading the team in delivering WOW to our customers. The Production Supervisor is accountable for the finished product, ensuring quality and productivity targets are met.

Production Supervisor utilizes electronic, digital and print documents including prints, schematics, work instructions, travelers, and other controlled documents to build and adjust products including building them into inventory in the ERP system on PCs and tablets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consults with the General Manager on the responsibilities associated with the execution of an operations strategy that aligns with the company overall objectives strategy, focused on manufacturing personnel and efficiencies. This includes but is not limited to manufacturing and labor.
  • Responsible for delivering products using established KPI's for manufacturing, including but not limited to turn-around times, safety, quality, material use, productivity, serialization and tracking, and employee efficiencies.
  • Responsible for ensuring that product rebuilds and/or product repairs are completed timely and resolved efficiently. Communication with respective teams is handled and any warranty items are shipped out in a timely manner.
  • Accountable for the management of workflow and production schedule of all airway products, sub-assemblies, repair kits and individual parts picking and packaging ensuring unit targets are met within quality standards and meet promised deadlines. Coordinating with the General Manager to meet deadlines.
  • Accountable for the management and leadership with the Production teams in building product airways, related assemblies and kits. Assembly, test, package, rework, warranty work, repairs, etc., as needed.
  • Accountable for the production team activities and assessing employee effectiveness and performance. Provide coaching, feedback and performance management with all team members. Collaborate with the Director of People Operations and maintain a level of communication for any ongoing performance related issues.
  • Provide training for new employees, and continuing education for existing employees.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering in association with the General Manager for all products and processes. Ensure manufacturing meets quality standards as well as ensuring quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager for smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Manage and oversee all production builds and movements in NetSuite, etc., reporting concerns regarding shortages of parts with General Manager and collaborating to establish a plan of action.
  • Accountable for communication of team goals, team initiatives and progress to align with company objectives.
  • Provide one-on-one weekly meetings with direct reports.
  • Consult and work in conjunction with General Manager and Director of People Operations to ensure core values and culture are thriving.
  • Consult and work in conjunction with the General Manager regarding standard operating procedures and detailed work instructions for documentation for all activities in the manufacturing of airway products and ensure that SOP's are adhered to.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications, Skills, And Abilities

  • High School Diploma. Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • 2-5 Years' experience in Manufacturing Leadership preferred
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in Operations / Lean Management with P&L responsibility at the plant level preferred
  • Expert ability to communicate effectively with others including the ability to provide clear, constructive, positive feedback to employees, preferred
  • Proven success designing, implementing, communicating and meeting KPI goals, including improving through put
  • Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen or comparable training preferred
  • Proficient ability to effectively recruit, hire, coach, train and develop, retain and redirect employees as needed to produce and maintain a successful team helpful
  • Proficient ability to assertively solve strategic problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists helpful
  • Relationship building skills include the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within the organization and leverage influential leadership helpful
  • Understanding of Scuba related products and functionality preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office and NetSuite and other cloud computing platforms required.
  • Expected Travel is 0%.
  • Physical Activities include periods of sitting for long durations. Long periods on a computer that may emulate blue light. Walking through production areas. Able to walk around in tight areas, lift 20lbs to 50 lbs.
