POSITION: STAFF ACCOUNTANT
REPORTS TO: Controller
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Weekly:
- Transmit employee 401 deferrals to Asset Custodian.
- Import Payroll allocations. Review Payroll batches prior to batch release.
- Overall assistance with general accounting matters such as credit cards, receivables, purchasing, fleet, inventory, allocations, reporting, yearend matters, working with external CPA on annual tax matters, etc.
- Maintain Sun Pass List and Sun Pass files
- Maintain Driver Counseling Log, track fines collected, and take action needed re Samsara
Monthly:
- Tasks associated with Month End closing process [see separate Task Checklist document].
- Complete account reconciliations [bank, GL, etc.]
- Responsible for all benefits accounting, reconciliation payment of carrier vendor invoices, reporting, COBRA reimbursement, 401 deferrals, tasks associated with audits, etc.
- All accounting, recordkeeping, and reporting associated with advertising.
- Calculate post depreciation.
- Responsible for all tasks associated w Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Maintain Vehicle Tags List, Vehicle Change Forms, and vehicle files, titles, insurance, etc.
- Data entry of Sun Pass bill into XLS, review Sun Pass v Tags List follow up if needed.
- Review fuel bill v Tags list prepare Wright Express invoice
- Run Commercial v Residential report production report
- Tasks to complete inventory
Occasional:
- Provide assistance to Controller as requested.
- Tasks associated with accidents in company vehicles, insurance claims, vehicle repair, log, filing, etc.
Annually:
- Vehicle license plate renewals related recordkeeping
SKILLS EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proficient in Sage [Mas, BizNet, Filebound, FAS] and Excel required Ultimate Software preferred
- 3-5 years’ progressively responsible Accounting work experience with above duties, including staff supervision
