Job Summary:
Human-I-T is seeking a hardworking and dependable Warehouse Associate to join our team. In this role, you will help handle, sort, and organize donated technology and materials to prepare them for reuse or recycling. Your responsibilities will include operating equipment, organizing inventory, maintaining a safe workspace, and occasionally interacting with donors. This position requires physical strength, stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and security.

This role is based in a secure, NAID AAA and ISO-certified facility, ensuring top-tier data security and operational integrity. To maintain a safe and compliant workplace, all new hires must complete a background check and drug screening before starting. Our warehouse environment includes active equipment, material handling, and requires constant attention to safety.
Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Logistics and Deliveries:
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks during pickups and deliveries.
- Provide professional and courteous support to donors during pickups, answering questions and ensuring a positive experience throughout the process.
Sorting and Organizing:
- Receive and sort donated technology from local pickups and third-party deliveries.
- Handle heavy items (up to 100 pounds) using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Inspect items to determine whether they can be reused or need to be recycled.
- Remove packaging and materials like scrap metal, wood, and plastics, ensuring they go into the appropriate recycling bins.
- Label reusable electronics with unique tags for accurate inventory tracking.
Warehouse Operations:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to safely move items.
- Stack and organize items on pallets or shelves for storage or further processing.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and easy to navigate.
- Follow established safety and operational guidelines to ensure smooth and secure processes.
Safety and Compliance:
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves and safety glasses.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials like batteries.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free workspace to reduce risks like slips and falls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational training or certifications in warehouse operations are a plus.
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, or inventory management, preferably handling electronics or similar materials.
Skills:
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic computer skills for inventory data entry and project management tools.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and performing physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and palletizing.
- Tolerance for working in a dynamic warehouse environment with exposure to varying conditions.
Other Requirements:
- Must pass a third-party background check and drug screening.
- COVID-19 vaccination required as a condition of employment.
- Familiarity with six sigma or ISO certification compliance is a plus.
