Job Objectives
Incumbent attends to the needs of the public and the Board by providing high-quality services to ensure a seamless and trustworthy voting experience. Incumbent is responsible for the recruitment, training, and placement of precinct election officials. Incumbent is required to assist with invoice and payroll preparation, processing candidate petitions, assist in processing and filing voter registration forms, and provisional ballot research.

Incumbent is responsible for the recruitment, training, and placement of precinct election officials. Incumbent is required to assist with invoice and payroll preparation, processing candidate petitions, assist in processing and filing voter registration forms, and provisional ballot research.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment, appointment, and training of election officials for each election.
- Develop/update training materials including manuals and multimedia visual aids, tailored to the specific needs of the precinct election officials.
- Schedule and coordinate training sessions, ensuring all necessary resources and equipment are available and set up prior to the start of each session.
- Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions, employing a variety of teaching techniques to accommodate different learning styles.
- Maintain election official records and process payroll after each election.
- Assist with office payroll and invoice preparation.
- Send and process outgoing provisional ballot confirmations.
- Receive candidate petitions, enter petitions into the petition tracking module, and check petition signature validity.
- Assist in the processing, data entry, and filing of voter registration forms.
- Maintain an inventory of all office equipment.
- Assist the public, candidates, and elected officials with courtesy and professionalism.
- Prepare reports and create forms as required.
- Must maintain confidentiality and business integrity.
- Attend continuing education classes as required.
- Follow all records retention schedules as required by the Board of Elections and the Ohio Secretary of State.
- Assist other Board of Election team members with pre- and post-election duties.
- Perform all other duties assigned, delegated or required including those prescribed by law, rule, or Directive.
- Must have knowledge of personal computer operations and software (Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours to meet deadlines and election requirements throughout the year.
- Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely, both orally and in writing, and provide clarification as necessary.
- Possess an ability to thrive in a stressful environment with seasonal high workflow.
- Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with a variety of people both in-person and over the phone, occasionally under difficult circumstances.
