Position Summary:
The Pride and Events Administrative Temp will work with the Membership Outreach staff under the direction of the Senior Manager, Membership Outreach, facilitating the logistics of HRC’s presence at a multitude of Pride festivals and events nationwide. The Pride and Events Administrative Temp must be extremely proactive, detail oriented, with database experience and demonstrate aptitude to handle a multitude of details simultaneously.
This is a six-month in-person hybrid position beginning in late April/early May 2025 and ending in late October/early November 2025. This role is expected to be located in the DMV and report to our office in Washington, D.C.
Position Responsibilities:
Participate as an integral part of the Pride and Events program, with responsibilities including:
- Lead application submissions for festival and parade participation at over 150 annual Pride events.
- Assure logistical on-the-ground preparedness of upcoming Pride festivals and events, including but not limited to proper rental equipment arrangement, application submission, insurance requirements, shipment tracking etc.
- Manage integrity and accuracy of data entered into both internal database and external volunteer website.
- Report out on results and upcoming events on a regular basis and present various sets of data in a legible manner.
- Track Pride-related travel for several staffed events.
- Organize and process revenue and confidential membership information.
- Keep track of Events inventory and replenish as needed, and provide administrative support for Events.
- Assist as-needed with preparing, packing, and shipping materials for events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
- One to three years of successful administrative or program support is required.
- Exemplary time management skills and the ability to prioritize urgent items.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail is required.
- Works well in a team and collaborative environment.
- Must have a professional and responsible manner.
- Experience and comfort with Microsoft Office Apps and Google Drive Suite, with a particular emphasis on spreadsheets.??
- Personal interest in and commitment to LGBTQ rights is required.
