Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Marketing and Outreach Manager, the Outreach Lead is responsible for the implementation of our outreach program. The position will provide outstanding customer service, spear heading adoptions, driving to and from events and leading the outreach team while off site. The Outreach Lead collaborates directly with customers, staff, and volunteers, providing courteous, friendly, and professional assistance.

This position is the first point of contact between a customer and the Humane Society of Greater Miami at all events, he/she is responsible for ensuring the first encounter is positive for the customer and sees the encounter through to a successful outcome.

Please note: This position requires a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday schedule.

General Duties:

· Point of contact for parties who wish to plan/host future events after being given the approved information from the Assistant Marketing and Outreach Manager.

· Works with Offsite Adoption Counselor in preparing adoption folders and prepping the van and adoption bag.

· Communicates with the Marketing and Communications Manager for event signage and/or printed materials.

· Conveys outreach needs to Assistant Marketing and Outreach Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.

· Follow-up to ensure all pertinent information has been given to volunteers.

· Works with the Shelter team (Customer Service and Animal Care) to ensure all necessary materials are ready for outreaches and events.

· Manages selection of outreach materials under the supervision of the Assistant Marketing and Outreach Manager such as tablecloths, brochures, crates, informational material, table, chairs, tent, etc.

· Maintains an inventory and log for outreach materials.

· Works with Offsite Adoption Counselor and Animal Care to select appropriate animals for events under supervision of the Assistant Marketing and Outreach Manager.

· Supervises the preparation of all selected animals including health checks, bathing, collars, leashes, adoption materials, etc.

· Supervises the dogs and volunteers during the outreaches/events.

· Updates the outreach-tracking sheet daily.

· Prepares and performs post-outreach duties with Offsite Adoption Counselor such as putting all animals away safely, cleaning the van, completing Post Outreach Report, etc.

· Attends all Aventura Mall, Pet Supermarket Outreaches, and all other approved outreaches by the Assistant Marketing and Outreach Manager.

· Attends all special events.

· Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Prefer associate’s degree and one year of pertinent experience such as community organization work, special events, graphic design, marketing, public relations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.· Ability to plan and organize tasks to deliver work within a pre-determined timeline.· Ability to work independently to bring a project to completion and skills in facilitating partnerships, developing collaborative projects, prioritizing, and managing multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.· Excellent oral and written communications skills as well as strong customer service ability.· Sympathetic and objective understanding of other people; tact; patience; emotional stability; pleasing personality and neat personal appearance.· Experience in computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint,· Passionate about animals.· Must have a clean driving record.· Due to the nature of this position, must be Bilingual (English/Spanish)· Passion for animal welfare and a commitment to the mission and values of the Humane Society of Greater Miami.

· Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping.

Other Requirements:

· Proficiently handle duties within a facility where animals are exposed to various illnesses or may exhibit behavioral challenges, demonstrating adaptability and expertise in maintaining their welfare and ensuring a safe work environment.

· The ability to complete all onboarding forms and agree to HSGM’s policies before the first scheduled shift.

· Successfully fulfill a ninety-day introductory period.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
