What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Assistant position at Humane Society of Indianapolis, Inc?
Responsible for housekeeping and upkeep of facility, public and non-public areas. Position will involve working inside the facilities and outside on the grounds.
Summary of essential job functions
- Housekeeping duties throughout the facility
- Recyclable and trash collection
- Maintaining appearance of interior and exterior shelter areas
- Works on special facility projects as directed.
- Assists in sorting, distribution and reporting of donated supplies
- May be required to drive to procure donations
- Works with facility manager in identifying and completing daily and special maintenance projects to ensure cleanliness and appearance of facility
- Works with volunteer staff to accomplish basic cleaning of facility
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements
- Read and write
- Follow detailed instructions
- Must hold a valid IN driver’s license
- To interact efficiently with paid and volunteer staff
- Work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Provide a valid Indiana Driver’s License at hire
Abilities required
- Must be able to walk, stand and lift for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
