HSTC currently operates two resale stores in the Stuart area to support our mission of finding animals forever homes. Our stores operate 7-days per week and are staffed by paid staff and a great group of dedicated volunteers. See below for more information.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
· Responsible for store opening/closing duties including cash management and reporting as required.
· Maintains safe, clean, and orderly store conditions. Assures merchandise and displays are attractive and routinely rotated. Promptly addresses safety or maintenance issues.
· Accepts donations from customers and sorts according to store process and standards.
· Provides guidance on pricing. Identifies exceptional items and handles them per established procedures.
· Consistently acts in a professional manner, mindful that donors often support our organization in ways other than at the thrift store.
· Fosters a positive, productive, team-based environment and culture.
· Fulfills all other reasonable duties as requested.
Education, Experience, Skills, & Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledgeable in a wide range and variety of consumer goods and brand names.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- A minimum of one year in a retail environment
Must be able to:
- Work with, and communicate effectively across a wide diversity of people and levels
- Establish and manage multiple priorities.
- Organize a large quantity and variety of goods and materials.
- Demonstrate tact and diplomacy with co-workers, volunteers, customers, and donors.
- Use good judgment in making decisions.
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
Sit, stand, walk, push, pull, and lift up to 40 lbs. May lift heavier items with assistance.
Hours include 1 weekend day, 1 weekday 10:30-7pm.
