Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care for a variety of animals, ensuring their health and well-being in a safe and nurturing environment. This role requires a strong understanding of animal behavior, care procedures, as well as the ability to work effectively with both animals and fellow team members. Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercise.
- Administer medications and perform basic medical treatments as directed.
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments.
- Handle dogs and other animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness in animal living areas, including cages and common spaces.
- Monitor the health of animals and report any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Educate visitors on proper pet care practices and animal handling techniques.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the best outcomes for all animals.
- Be able to lift 50#

Conditions of Employment: * Conditions of employment include working under adverse conditions such as inclement weather and noise with daily exposure to infectious diseases, parasites, and animal waste in a physically and emotionally demanding environment.
- Be willing to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays in a facility operated 365 days a year.
- Be willing to work extra hours, as needed, due to uncovered workload or emergency situations.
Experience
- Previous experience in animal care or related fields is preferred but not required.
- Experience in dog handling or working with various species of animals is advantageous.
- Skills in animal restraint are essential for safe handling during care activities.
- Reliable and trustworthy.
