What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wild Animal Removal Route Technician position at Humane Wildlife Control Solutions?
Humane Wildlife Control Solutions is Louisville and Southern Indiana's largest wildlife removal and exclusion company. We are currently hiring for a newly created part-time Wildlife Route Technician position.
What You'll Do
Route Technicians are issued a daily route with various tasks in the field. Some of these tasks may include:
- Re-baiting one of our humane animal traps.
- Moving set traps from one spot to another.
- Picking up and delivering trapped animals to our offices.
- Removing a dead animal from a property.
- Removing trapping equipment from closed removal jobs.
- Other tasks as assigned on the route.
Applicant Requirements
We will provide the equipment you need to complete your route stops including the use of a company-owned vehicle.
- You'll have to be comfortable carrying and handling traps that may contain raccoons, opossums, squirrels and other aggressive animals inside.
- You'll need to be comfortable going hands-on with an angry raccoon in an attic or removing a snake from a home on scheduled appointments.
- You'll need to live in Louisville or Southern Indiana, or be capable of reaching those areas within 15 minutes from your home.
- You must have a squeaky clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or tickets in the past 10 years.
Work Hours & Compensation
We pay by the hour for this position, and pay is weekly. This position is primarily weekends only so weekend work is required. We may also have weekday work available to you. Hours are relatively flexible. We are open 24/7 so you can choose your own hours or even work overnight depending on availability.
Highly Qualified Applicants
While we will consider all applicants, you can become an above-average applicant if you have animal control officer, pest control, wildlife removal or other similar experience. Direct hands-on experience working with wildlife in a wildlife removal company will push you to the front of the applicant pool.

The next step in your career progression is to a Basic Wildlife Control Operator, capable of closing entry points to structures and fixing damage caused by wildlife in those structures. You'll also earn commissions on new work you start and damage you fix at an industry-leading rate.
Once you graduate to an Advanced Wildlife Control Operator you'll be sent to tackle some of the most difficult and challenging wildlife issues in the tri-state region, and rewarded financially for your work at an industry-leading rate.
