POSITION TITLE: QUALITY ASSURANCE ASSOCIATE
REPORTS TO: ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, QUALITY
LOCATION: Morristown, NJ
OVERVIEW
The Quality Assurance Associate will work closely with the Associate Director, Quality, and collaborate across departments such as Operations, Sales, Medical & Scientific Affairs, and Innovation. This role requires a solutions-oriented individual who can optimize customer and partner experiences with a consultative, resourceful approach.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing customer inquiries with available documentation and liaising with suppliers to address product and facility-related questions.
- Reviewing SIDIs and supporting documents (e.g., Specifications, SDSs, Flow Charts, Allergens, GMOs, BSE/TSE, Nutritionals, Test Methods, Third-Party Certifications) for Product Approval, Supplier Approval, Customer Requests, and Change Control.
- Analyzing customer specifications for alignment with supplier specifications for product approvals, orders, and customer requests.
- Supporting sample requests to ensure proper storage, stocking, and dispatch of products with the necessary documentation.
- Following the Product Release process to ensure that all products meet specifications and testing requirements before release.
- Uploading and maintaining current technical documents in Compliance Quest.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Associate Director, Quality and Vice President, Quality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree is not required. Relevant experience and knowledge in food science or related fields are preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (experience in Quality Assurance in the food industry is required).
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with U.S. FDA food and dietary ingredient regulations, HACCP/HARPC, manufacturing processes, and test procedures.
- Experience with CRM software (Salesforce) and Quality management software (Compliance Quest) is desirable, with the ability to quickly learn new tools.
- PCQI certification is a plus, but not required.
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Base Salary: $65K - $70K
- Bonus: 5% - 10% based on performance
- Hybrid Mon-Thu in Office, Friday WFH
