What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Director position at Hume Lake Christian Camps?
Vision for the Role: This is a dual-role position as Co-Director of Ponderosa (our week-long Summer High School Camps) and Co-Director of Winter Camp (weekend Winter Camps for Middle & High School). The Ponderosa and Winter Camp directors are responsible for the planning, organizing, executing, and directing of the Ponderosa Summer Camp program and the Winter Camp program at our Hume Lake property. Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing the overall camp program, managing part-time staff, hiring speakers and bands, and working with youth leaders to ensure an overall excellent camper experience.

The Role:
Manage the overall programming of Ponderosa & Winter Camp at Hume Lake.
Be significantly involved in the planning of themes, live openers, and the pre-production and filming of the summer & winter theme videos.
Be significantly involved in the design, planning, and building of the summer & winter sets.
Help hire, train, and spiritually invest in the Ponderosa & Winter Camp Staff.
Help hire the speakers and bands for Ponderosa & Winter Camp.
Host chapel gatherings and leader meetings from stage.
Help manage camper safety and act in emergency situations if needed.
Manage disciplinary issues when necessary and apply Biblical principles in decision processes with guests.
Build and maintain relationships with youth pastors and other church leaders.
Manage camp resources and departmental budget with a biblical view toward stewardship.

Evidenced commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel with others.
Must agree with Hume Lake’s Statement of Belief and be willing to abide by Hume Lake’s Code of Conduct.
Must be able to live in Hume Lake housing or provide private accommodations conducive to guests and camp needs.
Experience or knowledge of Christian Camping.
College Degree in Biblical Studies, Theology, or Church Ministry Preferred
5-10 years of experience in Youth Ministry / Church Ministry
Must be experienced and comfortable with public speaking.
Willingness to adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the job.
Must have good English language skills, both verbal and written, to communicate in a positive manner with staff, guests and public.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift (25-50) pounds.
Must be able to live at high altitude in extreme weather conditions.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and normal range of eyesight and hearing required to communicate with staff and manipulate camp equipment. Must operate under irregular working hours in a camp environment.
