Company Overview
Hunt Engineering Company (HEC) is looking for a team member for the Survey Services group in Malvern, PA. HEC’s Survey Services Department provides services for various clients in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland; our typical projects include utility infrastructure, airport, transportation, cargo terminals, and government funded site and building improvement projects. Our typical project work includes topographic, utility, boundary, ALTA/NSPS Land Title and bathymetric surveys.
Summary
As a Survey Project Manager at Hunt Engineering Company, you will oversee and manage various surveying projects as well as field and office staff.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assembles deed mosaics including making minor property line adjustments and correcting closure errors.
- Reviews right-of-way plans prepared either in house or by outside clients as required.
- Reviews courthouse research performed by others to assure correctness and completeness.
- Reviews a wide variety of deliverables prepared by office staff to confirm accuracy and completeness.
- Reviews survey calculations completed by others.
- Downloads and processes complex GPS data and prepares GPS reports as required to submit to DOT, Turnpike Commission or similar agencies.
- Makes boundary line location recommendations in accordance with state laws and statues.
- Prepares monthly progress reports.
- Conducts visits to project sites for various reasons.
- Manages minor to complex survey projects.
- Supervises both field and office staff as required.
- Coordinates the training of staff assigned to the Survey Manager.
Qualifications
This role requires a minimum of one (1) of the following criteria:
- Show prior experience as a Survey Project Manager, or similar role, with another employer.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in surveying or a closely related field from four-year College or technical school.
- Have six (6) to ten (10) years related and progressive experience and/or training, with at least two (2) years being a supervisory role
Additional job requirements:
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Civil3D, Trimble Business Center and other commonly used software packages
- Must have reliable transportation to office when required
- Must have a safety mindset
- Exhibit a team attitude and work well with others
The preferred candidate will have hold a Surveyor in Training certificate or Professional Land Surveyor license in Pennsylvania or another colonial state.

Successful candidates will be able to possess a clean driving record and be able to pass security clearances through the TSA and FBI.
