The Role : Consumer Finance Associate | Remote (New York or New Jersey)

We are seeking a talented Consumer Finance Associate to join a prominent national law firm in its virtual office, The Link. This role offers the opportunity to manage significant litigation and arbitration proceedings for financial institutions while collaborating with a team of legal experts within the Financial Services & Capital Markets business unit.

In this position, you will :

Represent financial institutions in litigation and arbitration proceedings at the state, federal, and appellate levels.
Navigate complex cases involving mortgage servicing litigation, the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and state consumer protection acts.
Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and attention to detail.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative legal strategies tailored to client needs.
Provide strategic counsel to clients on compliance with financial and consumer protection laws.
Manage client relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment on case strategies and outcomes.

Candidate Profile

Experience and Expertise

Years of Practice : Minimum of 3 years of experience in consumer finance litigation and arbitration.

Litigation Background : Proven ability to handle cases at state, federal, and appellate levels, with experience in mortgage servicing litigation and consumer protection laws.

Educational Credentials

Juris Doctor (JD) : Degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

Bar Membership : Active New York or New Jersey bar license, with residency in the corresponding state.

Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively under pressure.
