What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Office Equipment Installer position at Hunter-Cole Communications?
Overview:
Hunter-Cole works with AT&T to solve their central office needs. We are seeking a Level 3 Telecommunications Installation Technician to support and assist in the setup and installation of telecommunications equipment. The Level 3 Technician works closely with a Level 4 Installer to ensure that all equipment is installed safely, following specific guidelines and standards. This role involves a combination of hands-on installation work and quality checks to ensure that everything is set up correctly and meets project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Level 4 Technician in overseeing multiple projects and maintain communication about project progress.
- Perform installations, including adding or removing equipment, wiring, and connections on non-operational equipment.
- Conduct on-site quality inspections and perform Self-Quality Checks at the end of each project.
- Read and follow technical drawings and specifications to ensure precise installation.
- Supervise subcontractor work on site when permitted, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in central office installations or a similar field.
- Ability to work independently on standard installations, with proficiency in circuit modifications, equipment setup, and quality checks.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and perform repetitive movements.
- Familiarity with industry standards for quality and documentation, such as ATT-TP-76300.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
