Crane Operator
We are currently is seeking a Crane Operator who is responsible for operating hydraulic cranes with various types of controls in lifting, moving, positioning and repositioning and heavy loads.
Responsible for:
- Operates crane to raise and lower load line in response to signals.
- Inspects and lubricates cables, pulleys, guides, and drums.
- Inspects equipment for deficiencies, such as tires, lights, brakes, fuses, and fluid levels and submits report indicating equipment condition.
- Understands stakes and guidelines on ground or positions equipment following hand signals of assistant.
- Operates hand wheels, levers, and depresses pedals to drive machines and control attachments.
- Watches gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the machine is working properly.
- Determines the causes of operating errors and decides what to do about it.
- Maintains safe operating conditions to protect people and property from injury.
Work Qualifications:
- Knowledge of rigging and load limits.
- Must be able to operate Hydraulic and Friction Cranes.
- Knowledge of crane signals given by assistant.
- Judges distances and slopes accurately.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of structures, highways, or roads.
- Knowledge of materials, production processes, and quality control.
- Prioritizes work to meet goals or deadlines.
- Takes pride in craftsmanship.
- Prioritizes work to meet goals or deadlines.
- Works within precise standards of accuracy.
Education & Work Experience Requirements:
- Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License, w/ No Air Brake Restriction,
- Possess an NCCCO Crane Certification or comparable, AND,
- Five (5) years’ experience in crane operation for construction.
