Hunter Pays: $20.50hr (Shift is 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday)
The Paint Line Operator Level 1 receives, stores, and distributes materials and products within the plant floor to support the flow of material to and from the paint line. They will load and unload materials from the paint line conveyor system.
This position is the entry position in the paint line progression promotion program.
What you will do:
- Observes and follow all safety rules
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends, as scheduled
- Conveys materials using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts (if licensed) from the paint area to designated areas
- Will manually load and unload materials from the paint line conveyor system, however never lifting more than 50 pounds without a team lift or the use of lifting devices
- Sorts and places materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code after the painting process
- Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers
- Visually inspect finished painted materials to support quality
- Working as a team is essential in the coordination of loading and unloading materials
- Safe operation of forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, or other moving equipment
- Will work toward training in the various paint line stations to progress into the next progression role
- Maintain the work area to sustain a clean and orderly environment
- Additional duties as assigned.
Additional Qualifications Include:
- High school diploma or GED is required, and mechanical work experience is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to be trained to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, motorized pallet jacks, or manual pallet jacks
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers
