What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist position at Hunters Glen Veterinary Hospital?
We are a busy, full-service animal hospital providing integrated healthcare services, in-house diagnostic technologies, and alternative therapies like Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture. We also offer boarding and grooming.
We are an established practice with great patients and clients!
Hours:
Mon - Fri
- Afternoon receptionist works 12:00am - 6:00pm
- Every other Saturday 8:00am – 12:00pm (close)
- Off every Sunday (closed)
- There are six holidays for which we close.
- Please Note: There is only one other person who works up front. You may occasionally be asked to switch shifts or work a double.
Duties:
- Schedule patients
- Answer phones, emails, and text messages
- Act as the liaison between the clients and medical staff
- Prepare, organize, and file charts and records
- Document client communication
Key skills:
- Excellent customer service and have great phone etiquette
- Ability to handle multi-line phone system
- Attention to detail
- Quick and accurate typing
- Thorough and accurate documentation
- Computer skills, including but not limited to word, excel, email, and learning our medical software
Bonus skills, but not necessary:
- Familiarity with common medical abbreviations and terminology (BID, PO, SQ, etc)
- Prior experience in hospital or clinic
- Prior experience as a receptionist or secretary
- Could work well for retirees looking for supplemental income
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 34 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating weekends
