What are the responsibilities and job description for the Course Advisor position at Hunters Run Country Club?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand and educate members and guests of Hunters Run Golf Policies and Procedures.
- Greet members and guests according to HRCC standards.
- Make sure members and their guests start at their scheduled starting times.
- Advising members and guests about attire and dress code, understanding, and enforcing the Pace of Play policy and Cart Traffic / Parking Rules.
- Accurately document pace of play for each group on the tablets provided.
- Learn and understand the Disability Cart Parking Guidelines.
- Assist members and guests in finding lost clubs on the golf course.
- Knowledgeable with the use and care of all Hunters Run property. Including iPads, Golf Carts, Walkie Talkies, and Blue Tooth Earpieces.
- Always ensure Hunters Run is presentable by taking care of the golf course.
- Make sure trash is properly discarded in trash receptacles. Pick up loose trash around the golf course and change trash bags when they are overflowing.
- Restrooms and comfort stations should be tidy and stocked every time you pass by. Pick up loose trash on floor, flush toilets, wipe down counters, wipe down trash bins and towel receptacles inside and outside, etc.
- Radio Starters Booth immediately when a comfort station or restroom needs attention.
- Collect dirty towels and take them to laundry.
- Properly communicate any unusual, unsafe conditions or situations on the golf course to the Starter in a timely manner.
- Know and understand the Emergency Response Protocols and Procedures.
- Report incidents or unusual behavior to the Golf Professional Team.
- Be visible to members and guests while on the golf course and always communicate in a friendly, courteous manner.
- Check all emergency telephones and restroom facilities while on the golf course immediately report anything in need of repair to the Starter.
- Check pin and tee locations to ensure they are in an acceptable position and report any concerns to the Starter or Professional Staff immediately.
- Assist Professional Staff during golf leagues and events by taking out proxies, directing and leading groups out to correct starting hole, and event setup.
- Issue warnings and infractions when necessary.
- Understand the Thorguard Lightning Detection System.
- Understand and enforce the Club’s fivesome policy.
- First Aid Kits provided must be properly stocked each day.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- AED / CPR certification is recommended.
QUALIFICATIONS

LANGUAGE SKILLS

REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense and understand how to carry out written or verbal instructions coupled with the ability to critically think through and solve difficult situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the essential duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands / arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing in this position, the employee is sometimes exposed to wet, humid conditions and will be working outside.
