What are the responsibilities and job description for the Release Specialist position at Huntington County Government?
Huntington County Community Corrections Department has an opening for a Full Time Release Specialist
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the daily supervision of participants of the Pre-Trial and Community Correction programs utilizing prescribed policies and procedures, while ensuring a secure, safe, and humane environment for individuals in pretrial or post-conviction supervision program status using evidence-based practices.
Experience in criminal justice, social work, or counseling is preferred and a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with the public and participants in a courteous and tactful manner including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities.
The successful candidate must have the ability to empower program participants to make life-changing decisions by providing appropriate and specific evaluation, analysis and problem-solving techniques.
Pay is up to $19.49 per hour. DOQ/E. The successful candidate must be flexible to work hours outside of business hours (8a-4:30p M-F).
