The Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist 3 handles the more complex processing for Huntington's products and services related to Consumer loans. Work independently under minimum supervision and guidance of the Audit and Control Manager, and also work in a team setting. The Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist 3 assists with all job functions within the Audit and Control department and is expected to have advanced knowledge and understanding of the end-to-end processes.
Handle Qualified Written Requests (QWR), Notice of Errors (NOE), and Requests for Information (RFI) along with analyzing customer complaints. This includes, researching, problem solving, gathering supporting documentation (i.e., loan documents, MSP servicing system notes, system reports, life of loan history, etc.), entering information in MAX, partnering with other Consumer Loan Servicing departments, Default Servicing, Home Lending, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Outside Counsel to provide written responses to customers and meet outgoing mail deadlines. It may also require occasionally speaking with customers about their complaints.
This position also requires handling outgoing wires for Consumer Loan Servicing. This involves initiating wires in the HAWC system and in Business Online / Payment Center as well as final approval of the wires to be sent outside of Huntington.
This highly regulated industry requires the Specialist 3 to fully understand and comply with regulatory requirements, including adhering to strict timeframes, on an on-going basis, along with learning and understanding process flows from beginning to end. Consumer Loan Servicing is a fast paced, highly regulated environment. Positions in this job family must adhere to written policies and procedures and will be regularly audited to ensure compliance.

Job Description
- Processing of work related to mortgage loans, compiling loan documentation and research to conclusion, data entry in MAX, maintaining and organizing documentation, email/call all applicable internal colleagues and/or compliance, legal, outside counsel, compile and mail customer letters/response packets per regulatory timelines.
- Respond to external customer requests through written communication
- Draft and maintaining department procedures along with assisting to create new processes
- Review, research and resolve issues and bank errors
- Motivated self-starter with a proven ability to multi-task, solve problems, and communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Handle internal/external problems/exceptions while actively seeking out ways to improve and fix broken processes with manager and other departments
- Assist with responses to regulatory examinations and audits including information gathering and analysis of the data
- Review, initiate, and approve outgoing wires for Consumer Loan Servicing
- Lead, organize, and coordinate internal and external audits and exams (independently and assisting the Audit and Control Manager). This includes multi-tasking and working/running multiple audits/exams at once.
- Implement, monitor, and successfully complete projects as required.
- Assist with system testing when new updates are installed such as HAWC outgoing wire testing.
- Create reports, dashboards, analyze data, and monitor processes for issues/errors within the department. Summarize findings and report to manager.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3 or more years of financial services that includes compliance/regulatory guidelines, experience
- Thorough knowledge and experience with mortgage loans, home equity loans, and home equity lines of credit.
- Customer service experience
- Black Knight MSP experience
- MAX, ESS, EDR, and customer complaint experience
- Financial Services Industry experience, including knowledge of loan operations, loan servicing, and compliance with RESPA, FCRA, Fair Lending, UDAAP, and Regulation Z
- Experience with default servicing (foreclosure, home savers, bankruptcy, loss mitigation) preferred
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in accounting, mortgage, or other business preferred
- Hogan and Passport experience
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to be flexible and work independently as well as in a team setting with good time management and strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional demeanor and grammar
