Portfolio Management Team Lead provides analytical, portfolio management, underwriting and compliance, and management support within the Trade & Working Capital Finance division of Global Advisory.

This is a player-coach position: Individual will have their own portfolio management responsibilities along with the opportunity to manage direct reports.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Participate in the underwriting, monitoring and compliance management primarily for Financial Institutions (including foreign banks and global insurance companies) within the Trade & Working Capital Finance division of Global Advisory.
• Underwrite and present credit limits to approval authorities. Own primary responsibility for the monitoring of commercial portfolio risks, including managing PMs/underwriters engaged in these transactions. The role will encompass both credit underwriting and portfolio management. Responsible for underwriting quality, portfolio administration, and ongoing credit monitoring of assigned portfolio.
• Complete country risk analysis for assigned geographies, develop limit recommendations and present to approval authorities. The candidate will build productive relationships with the business units with the aim of responsibly and preemptively addressing country limit increases/ adjustments. Quarterly validate division’s exposures to Reg. Reporting and present to country risk committee.
• Actively monitors market conditions in assigned geographies and provides updates when appropriate to Division Management and approval/oversight authorities as requested.
• Participation in strategic and innovative development in process workflows for new initiatives and products.
• Maintain frequent contact with Trade Operations, AML/BSA, Credit and other key partners to stay current on internal requirements and trends.
• Will work directly with the Team Leaders, Relationship Managers, Regional Credit Officer, Credit Review, and Segment Risk across the commercial bank. Must be able to work on a multi-locale team.
  
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of seven (5) years of experience in underwriting financial institutions, insurance entities, foreign countries or large corporate credits.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Finance or Economics majors preferred)
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in underwriting insurance entities, foreign countries, and large corporate credits.
• 5 or more years of Management experience
• Ability to present and effectively communicate with all levels of management

Compensation Range

$102,000.00 - $208,000.00 Annual Base Salary

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.  Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.  In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
