Job Title: Activities Director (Healthcare)
The Activities Director is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing resident-centered activities for the facility. This role ensures compliance with current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a monthly activity schedule that includes resident outings, group activities, and in-room activities for bed-bound or isolated residents.
- Encourage residents to participate in self-initiated activities such as hobbies, crafts, and reading.
- Provide materials necessary for activities, including reading materials in Braille or audio books as appropriate.
- Schedule and arrange transportation for residents when necessary.
- Maintain informative and descriptive charted activity progress notes.
- Supervise and manage the activity staff.
- Participate in community planning, surveys, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in reviewing and developing plans of correction for activity deficiencies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.
- Activity Director certification.
