Directly Reports To : Recreation Manager – Youth and Early Childhood
DESCRIPTION
The summer camp counselor is a part time position located at the REC Center. The camp counselor plans & implements activities, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, sports and games for campers in Kindergarten through 8th grade. In addition, they are responsible for supervision of a group of children, enforcing rules and regulations with participants, assist with daily attendance records, participate in planned activities and assures safety for camp participants.
Requirements : JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 16 years of age with at least one year of youth related leadership experience.
- Successfully complete pre-employment background check.
- Current CPR / AED Certification is required. Decision-making ability, conflict resolution and organizational skills required.
- Ability to understand and exhibit behavior consistent with the stated park district values.
- Ability to work with all age groups.
- Must possess good communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to work 5 days Monday-Friday
- Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
