What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rewind Tech. position at Hupp Electric Motors?
This position is for a off shift position, 2nd or 3rd shift. Training will be done on 1st shift.
Job Summary:
As a member of the Rewind Department at Hupp Electric Motors you will perform a crucial role in providing a quality product and service for our customers. The ideal candidate will show the ability to work alongside other employees to gain knowledge in an ever-growing industrial field. Additionally, they will show the ability to work solo or with others to complete an assigned task.
Minimum qualifications:
- Preferred minimum level of education: high school diploma
- Understand basic mathematics
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance technology or related field
- Knowledge of electrical components and theory (IE: ohms law)
- Familiarity with inventory management practices
- Welding/brazing knowledge and abilities
Availability and Training Requirements:
- Ability to follow company safety procedures
- Ability to understand, perform and retain various skill-related training
- Availability to complete a five-year, hands-on apprenticeship with one year first shift
introductory training
- Availability to work overtime hours when needed along with a monthly rotating
weekend on-call schedule
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs
- Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequently work with their hands
- Clearly see 20 feet with or without corrective lenses
- Have ability for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Work Performed:
- Inspect, test, and remove existing windings from electromechanical equipment
- Record rewind data from old equipment
- Replicate data taken to install new windings and perform final testing before sealing equipment to send back into service
