Responsibilities:
- Perform drinking and wastewater treatment procedures to ensure the quality and safety of water systems
- Maintain and operate water treatment equipment and machinery
- Conduct regular inspections and tests to monitor water quality
- Analyze test results and make adjustments to treatment processes as needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or malfunctions with water treatment systems
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
-Record data accurately and legibly.
Qualifications:
-Job requires ability to be on call
-Job involves visiting multiple sites to perform tasks. As such, candidate will need to have reliable transportation and understands driving will be required to access job sites.
-This job deals both in Drinking Water and Wastewater systems. As such, applicant must be comfortable dealing with sewage, necessary chemicals for treatment, etc.
-Job sites include both indoor and outdoor responsibilities. Applicant understands that weather conditions will range from rain to snow, hot to cold temperatures, etc as this is Michigan.
-Applicant must be used to and comfortable with physical labor.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating chemical dosages
- Strong analytical skills to analyze water samples and test results
- Knowledge of plumbing systems and ability to perform basic plumbing tasks
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Applicant will understand that this job deals with public health.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues with water treatment systems
-Must have excellent communication skills. The hired employee must feel comfortable asking questions if problems arise, or if something is not understood. Must also let Huron Environmental staff know general conditions, etc while working- this job is best performed when everyone is on the same page.
Note: Prior experience in water/ wastewater treatment or a related field is preferred, but not required. **Training will be provided for the right candidate.**
