Starting Pay: $20.74 (pay depends on experience)
Job Description:
Hurricane City Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. This position is a full-time position consisting of 40 hours a week, 10-hour shifts, with rotating shifts to include days, evening, and nights. Every other weekend off. Applicants will need to be willing to work Weekends and Holidays. This position is under the direction of the Patrol Sergeant and or their designee. Police Officers are responsible for enforcing all applicable City, State, and Federal Laws and Ordinances by investigating, citing, and/or arresting violators as appropriate; enforce traffic laws to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow; investigate traffic accidents and other criminal investigations.
Job Related Qualifications:
Applicants will need to have very good communications skills and have the ability to explain information to citizens in a professional and responsible manner. Hurricane City Police Department is a Community Oriented Policing department.
Applicants need to have excellent common sense, be teachable and willing to learn. They need to be very knowledgeable and able to remember and follow the laws, procedures, and policies governing Police Officers.
Police Officers are representatives of the Police Department and will be expected to act professionally and present a very professional demeanor while on duty and off. Police Officers will be in uniform and expected to act in a manner that brings trust and loyalty to their assigned position.
Police Officers will be required to complete and pass a field training program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be 21 years of age, have a High School Diploma or GED, and a valid Utah Driver’s License.
Applicants with SFO or LEO Certified will be given priority status.
Applicants will have to complete an application, background check, physical fitness test, written exam, and an oral interview board.
