What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Field Engineer position at Hutch Paving?
Hutch Paving is currently seeking a Field Engineer/Surveyor for Concrete and Asphalt construction. This position will begin in our 2025 season.
Responsibilities:
· Perform engineering surveys of existing parking lots, curb and gutter, sidewalk, etc. for the purpose of new construction and remove and replace paving operations.
· Assist with utility location.
· Conduct as-built surveys.
· Determine elevation, location, grades of points and areas with a transit and or level.
· Determine grade and slope of proposed and/or existing sidewalks, footings, retaining walls, drainage ditches, paving, and related projects.
· Ensure proper drainage on paving projects by working with prep crews and paving crews to execute a grade that will drain.
Requirements:
· Experience with the principals of surveying.
· Experience with basic algebra, trigonometry, and plane geometry.
· Ability to work with others or lone worker.
· Able to plan and execute work assignments without constant oversight.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
