Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of plant operations including all production departments. To ensure and improve the company’s performance in on time delivery, quality, and profitability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:
· Production
Coordinate production activities by either creating the schedule or working with the planner/ scheduler to meet delivery needs of the customer(s); determine what machines/equipment to use in addition to examine staffing available. May require alternative scheduling when backlog occurs and or equipment malfunctions, requiring maintenance. Inventory management in conjunction with procurement manager or other purchasing personnels.
Use continuous improvement tools to reduce downtime, improve quality, improve on time delivery, meet labor efficiency targets, reduce scrap, and reduce manufacturing expenses.
· Quality
Working with the Quality Department Manager to ensure all production personnel follow work instructions to manufacture quality products that meet & exceed customer requirements and expectations; avoid re-work or reject products and delay of deliveries.
· Supervision
Provide direct supervision, coaching and mentoring to production leads & supervisors; determine responsibilities to accomplish business objectives. Train and ensure all employees are aware of and comply with company and customer policies and procedures, to include building and maintaining a safe work environment.
· Maintenance
Working with the Maintenance Supervisor to assure machines and other equipment are functioning properly and running continuously; Create and maintain a preventative/predictive schedule to monitor machines performance. When maintenance is required, work efficiently to reduce, or avoid lost production time.
· Safety & Environmental
Provide support as needed to the compliance department regarding the company’s safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements. Improve the company’s safety record by making sure all personnel has the appropriate training on equipment or machinery to reduce or improve injury rates.
Other duties and responsibilities:
· Manage and coordinate daily production meeting.
· Support and be present in customer calls or in person meetings.
· Provide employee training & development.
· Working with the HR department maintain employee hiring, retention, performance reviews, and disciplines.
· Managing People - Takes responsibility for subordinates' activities; Makes self-available to staff; Provides regular performance feedback; Fosters quality focus in others; Improves processes, products, and services.
· Continually works to improve supervisory skills.
· Perform other duties, as assigned.
Education & Experience:
· High School diploma or G.E.D. Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
· Must have 5 years of experience in manufacturing supervision.
· Ability to read and understand blueprint specifications and communicate direction to team.
· Basic OSHA/EPA knowledge
· Epicor ERP Software experience is a plus.
· Ability to use and understand a variety of basic shop equipment and devices. Shop equipment may vary such as: Fabrication Machines, CNC Machines, Welding Machines, Over Head Cranes, Forklifts, and much more.
· Successful experience leading and managing plant operations, possessing exceptional team building and leadership skills as well as ability to develop and motivate direct reports.
· Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
· Strong communication skills and positive “teamwork first” attitude with proven ability to collaborate effectively management, peers, and direct reports.

Employees must be able to cope with Minnesota climate variances, endure heat & cold conditions in the shop. Endure heavy workloads, high noise levels from hammering, and grinding (hearing protection provided). Protect against metal particles, fumes, sparks, particles, and gases (safety glasses, safety-toed boots, ear plugs, and gloves provided per the company policy guidelines).
Individuals working in an office setting will not endure some of the physical & work environments conditions of the production floor unless office is adjacent to the production floor or per the individuals job duties and/ or responsibilities. All office personnel must abide by the PPE guidelines (safety glasses, safety-toed boots that are provided per the company policy guidelines) when entering the production floor or if a requirement of a department that individual is entering or working in.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
