Strives to achieve operating results through strategic thinking, maintaining a customer focus, building relationships, developing staff and motivating teams while ensuring cost effective, quality, customer directed care and services to the patients and customers of Hutch Regional Medical Center. This nurse leader partners with healthcare provider teams to ensure cohesive department communication and ensures clinical excellence while fostering a patient-centered care environment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages the overall clinical operations of her/his assigned areas including but not limited to: maintaining policies, assessing competencies, ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring quality, establishing improvement plans based on current best practices.
- Advocate, support and role model safe and high-quality patient care as evidenced by exceptional patient satisfaction scores, quality indicators, and staff engagement
- Promotes and role model’s effective communication, professional relationships and staff accountability.
- Builds a cohesive patient care team, including the development of appropriate clinical, administrative and support staffing patterns, recruitment, mentoring, and team-building.
- Provides patient care related to the age of the population served.
- Creates an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals.
- Collaborates with medical and professional staff of other departments to plan/coordinate joint patient and management objectives.
- Prepares departmental budget and ensures optimal allocation of staff to workload ratios, to meet budgetary goals/objectives.
- Assumes accountability for identifying problems and issues, generating and supporting solutions, and anticipating effects of decision.
- Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Experience in a leadership role
- Knowledge of modern principles and practices of hospital operations and nursing administration
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and establish computer skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative and medical personnel, employees, the public, and other agencies
- demonstrated leadership skills in decision making, process improvement, problem solving, coaching to performance expectations, investigations, staffing to acuity/volume metrics, achieving measurable improvements in patient experience, patient flow/throughput, staff engagement, and improving physician relations.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- RN from an approved school of nursing
- A minimum of 3 years progressive management experience in Emergency Department.
- Experience as a practicing RN.

- ACLS-Advance Cardiac Life Support
- PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- TNCC-Trauma Nurse Certification
- ENPC-Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course

ASLS-Advance Stroke Life SupportLICENSURE OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas or compact state with Kansas
- Current BLS-American Heart Association or Red Cross required
