The Professional Development and Competency Coordinator is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive training plans and role competency reviews across the organization. This role involves selecting and utilizing appropriate training methods (virtual, simulated, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes, etc.), coordinating training sessions, and conducting training for new and existing employees, with a particular emphasis on clinical workflows, evidence-based practices, and role competencies.
Additionally, this position is responsible for coordinating required CCBHC and CMHC licensing required trainings in collaboration with department directors to support ongoing learning and competency growth. The Coordinator will ensure all training activities align with the organization's commitment to providing quality, comprehensive patient-centered care.
REQUIRED BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:
REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop a yearly training plan for each staff role and work with department directors on a yearly implementation plan
- Design, develop, implement, and present training programs relevant to evidence-based practices and role competency
- Organize and support a training plan for all new team members specific to their role to ensure consistent training and competency baseline
- Conduct organization-wide training needs assessments to identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
- Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Maintain an updated curriculum database and training records.
- Manage and maintain in-house training equipment and resources.
- Research and recommend new training methods to enhance employee development.
- Use established education principles and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques.
- Communicate available training opportunities to team members and provide necessary information about expectations and continuing education units.
- Must be able to drive to different agency locations to provide in person training.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Working knowledge of criteria used for diagnosis of mental disorders and regulatory documentation standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse groups.
- Represents the organization effectively and professionally when interacting with employees. Maintains positive, constructive, collaborative, and respectful working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and administrative staff.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- One to three years’ experience working in a behavioral health setting.
- Experience and knowledge of community mental health centers

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Masters’ Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Professional Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy.
- One or more years working as a licensed clinician
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- One to three years’ experience working in a behavioral health setting.
- Experience and knowledge of community mental health centers
- Experience as a training coordinator/facilitator
REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
- BSRB Licensed at Masters Level Clinician.
- All necessary trainings for delivering specialized care, including all applicable trainings for being a Qualified Mental Health Professional (can be completed on the job).
- Valid Driver's License
PREFERRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Clinical Level Licensure by BSRB.
- Substance Use Disorder licensure.
