What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Buyer position at Hutchinson?
Duties include:
- Support the RFQ process with Commodity Buyers' supplier panels.
- Receive, analyze and present Sourcing recommendations.
- Develop and maintain key panel supplier relationships.
- Enforce group and local conditions as required.
- Conduct research on proposals for cost optimization actions.
- Track group purchasing savings and VA/VE actions in the Ivalua system.
- Collaborate with accountancy to resolve price discrepancies.
- Manage the end-of-life for components.
- Interact with corporate purchasing to meet global requirements in North America.
- Ensure purchasing data accuracy and validity in ERP and Ivalua.
Requirements:
- 2 years' experience as Project Buyer.
- 3 years' experience in the Automotive Market.
- 3 years stability at previous Companies (on average).
Desired Skills:
- Positive attitude.
- Pro-active mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Negotiation skills.
- Spanish language proficiency is desirable.
Education:
- Engineering or Technical Background.
- Business Administration, Economics, or Supply Chain Management.
Qualifications:
BA in Business with emphasis in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or equivalent; combined with purchasing, manufacturing, engineering related experience and/or training.
Experience in the automotive industry is required.
