Rate of Pay: $27.00 per hour (No per diem available)
Position Overview
Hutco, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Program/Production Support Specialist I to join our Programs Department in Norfolk, Virginia. This role supports various production and operational activities by coordinating data analysis, report management, and project development functions. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, proficiency in data handling, and the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Data Management and Reporting:
- Perform data input, extraction, and analysis to support Waterfront Operations functions.
- Maintain and update report logs and verify accuracy for submissions.
- Review and submit condition reports in compliance with government standards.
- Program and Administrative Support:
- Act as the principal liaison between Programs, other departments, and external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement program/project functions and provide administrative support.
- Facilitate training sessions, meetings, and special projects while ensuring problem resolution.
- Assist in condition report writing and schedule/chart development per contract objectives.
- Logistics and Coordination:
- Arrange logistics for department meetings and conferences, including travel requisitions.
- Manage and maintain sensitive information, records, and databases.
- Coordinate issuing of vehicle passes, badges, property control forms, camera passes, and laptop passes.
- Customer Interaction and Quality Control:
- Engage professionally with government representatives, contractors, and employees.
- Ensure quality control of information and adherence to industrial policies and directives.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and follow-through on all assigned tasks.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; OR
- Associate degree plus 1 year of related experience; OR
- 3 years of directly related experience.
- Technical Skills:
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Demonstrated experience in creating professional presentations.
- Ability to obtain Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) within 6 months.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written).
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage tasks independently.
- Familiarity with NASSCO’s policies and procedures is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb vertical ladders and scaffolding, and work at heights.
- Physical capacity to commute to various shipyard areas.
- Occasional exposure to dust, welding fumes, and moderate to loud noise environments.
- Vision abilities must include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Accountability
- Accountable to the Program Analyst Supervisor and designated Ship Manager.
- Responsible for ensuring project goals are achieved with quality and timeliness.
- Expected to develop, implement, and adhere to processes that enhance productivity and resource management.
